How True Blue Insurance’s Almost-100%-Remote Team Collaborates

29 March 2021by Martin Maina

Insurance has two sides like any other business: the good and the annoying side. And without asking, every consumer wants to experience the best service from their insurance provider.

For those who don’t know about insurance, it’s a contract representing a policy by which an insurance company indemnifies you against future losses. In other words, it’s a promise if the worst happens to you, to your business, or property, you will receive help from your insurance to rebuild again. Is that not exciting?

But here comes the annoying side; It takes ages to process a policy. On average, it can take two to three months after agreeing on the terms.

However, that doesn’t always have to be the case. It’s possible to process a policy in one day. Yes, with True Blue Insurance, it mostly takes one day.

But How Do They Do It?

Well, they use the magic of technology to deliver their service to customers. In particular, they have a friendly website, an online quote generator, and reliable communication tools. On top of it, they have experienced agents ready to give customers the best insurance service.

To achieve this, the CEO and founder of True Blue insurance needed a phone system, a good one for that matter. He saw it as an avenue to fulfill his company mission: be transparent, be honest, and make it easy for the client to find the best insurance according to their needs.

To make the company’s mission come to life, he contracted VOIP services to ensure no phone call went unanswered. And since agents worked remotely, the phone system came in handy for them too.

Let’s see how the CEO of True Blue Insurance collaborated with his remote team.

Using the Best Communication Tools

The key to success for any business is communication. And since remote teams can’t have physical meetings or socialize like in-house employees, they need useful tools to collaborate. Thankfully, in the recent past, Cloud-Based services have been on the rise, which has helped the collaboration and productivity of remote teams.

Apart from the phone system, Blue Insurance used tools like Zoom for video conferencing. This was important since it provided a platform for workers to meet, see each other, and bond-like in physical offices. Also, the CEO conducted training sessions for his remote team via the video platform.

Faxe was another tool that Brian and his team used a lot. With it, client clouds easily faze signed documents to agents. Likewise, True Blue agents would use the same platform to send documents to other insurance companies.

Hiring the Best Employee

The CEO also said. Hiring remote workers gives the advantage of hiring from a large pool, which offers your diverse option when building your team. Besides, remote teams add versatility, making it possible to serve clients whose time zone or local area you don’t support.

Keep them Engaged

Remote workers have their challenges too. As an employer, you need to keep them engaged. Remote teams lack the privilege of forming friendships like in offices. More than often, they are alone with a chat window and task management app as companions.

With these facts, the CEO had to nature and maintain a healthy employee culture. Where he would often encourage his team to collaborate and help each other solve problems. Another thing, he would praise good work, and the whole team would celebrate together. But more importantly, he had to ensure all team members got along.

Closing Remarks

Challenges will always be there, whether you have an office team or remote teams. However, your team’s success depends on the work culture, the personnel, and your working tools. This applies to both work arrangements.

But for remote teams, you must understand the above factors and align your business strategies accordingly. If you can do so, you will easily overcome any challenge as long as you give your team good working tools.
