It was mixed feelings all around. Some fans were sad while some were happy.

In the English FA Cup semi-final games, Chelsea defeated Manchester City to advance to the competition final while Leicester City joins them also after defeating Southampton by 1 goal to nil scored by Kelechi Iheanacho.

In the English premier league, Sheffield United got relegated to the English Championship league after the defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers. Newcastle United defeated Westham United to increase the gap between them and the relegation zone. While Fulham failed to capitalize on their lead against Arsenal on Sunday night as the latter scored a late goal by Nketiah to share the point with Fulham.  Manchester United reduced the gap at the top of the league between them and the league leaders to 8 points.

In France, Lille (70 points) still lead the table with one point having drawn with Montpellier. While PSG (69 points) defeated Saint-Etienne to reduce the gap to one point on the table. Monaco and Lyon trailed both teams by 68 and 67 points respectively.

In Spain, Atletico Madrid still leads the La Liga table with 70 points after defeating Eibar by 5 – 0 in a game that was cagy in the first half before Atletico found the back of the net in the second half. They are trialled by Real Madrid with 67 points who drew with Getafe and Barcelona at third with 65 points with a game in hand. Barcelona, on the other hand, was engaged with Copa Del Rey which was postponed last year due to concerns from both Barcelona and their opponent, Athletic Bilbao. Barcelona defeated Athletic to win their first trophy in 2019 and the first one under the management of Ronald Koeman.

In Germany, Bayern Munich leads the Bundesliga table with 68 points having played 29 matches out of 34 after beating Wolfsburg 3 – 2. They are followed by Leipzig with 61 points. Dortmund currently sits in the 5th position with 49 points. On top of Dortmund are Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt in 3rd and 4th respectively.

In Italy, Inter Milan still leads the table by 75 points after drawing Napoli by 1 -1. They are followed by AC Milan with 66 points who defeated Genoa by 2 – 1. In third and fourth position is Atalanta and Juventus with 64 and 62 points respectively.
